Liebster Award!

I have recently been nominated for the Liebster Award by Sarah Christie at, so thank you Sarah. This is a tag designed for blogs with under 200 followersto give them some recognition and share the blogging love! Originally I was a bit sceptical of this award as it is in a 'chain-letter' sort of format, but as I thought about it, its actually a fab idea. It helps smaller blogs with promotion, helps readers discover new blogs and also find out more about the blogger. So here goes!

The rules are as follows - If you choose to accept; mention who nominated you, answer their eleven questions. Set your own eleven questions then nominate eleven bloggers with less than 200 followers, letting them know you have nominated them on their blogs. If it's not for you then thats fine too.

The questions Sarah set me are as follows:
  1. You are about to be marooned on a desert island, but can take 3 things with you, What would you take? My iPhone and hope I get signal! Some insect repellent while I await rescue, and a companion - probably my boyfriend, for some company.
  2. Red or White Wine? I'm not a fan of wine, but if I had to pick, probably white.
  3. There is going to be a movie made of your life, who would you want to play you and why? Jennifer Lawrence - I love her personality! I think she'd portray me well ;-).
  4. Snow or Sun? Suuuunn. I hate when snow goes all slushy and dirty. I love the warmer weather!
  5. What is you favourite perfume? Ralph Lauren Big Pony Collection number 4.
  6. If you could have a superpower, what would it be and why? Either the ability to control time or to teleport, preferably the former. Would make life infinitely easier!
  7. What is your favourite colour? Purpleee.
  8. What is your favourite place that you have ever visited? I loved Florida when I went but would only ever visit on a holiday. I would love to live in Germany.
  9. What makes you smile? Ooh so many things! I may do a blog post on this actually...
  10. What makes you angry? On the contrary, nothing makes me particularly angry. I've never lost my temper, I generally get more upset than angry.
  11. What are you currently reading? The Hundred Year Old Man Who Climbed Out of The Window And Disappeared by Jonas Jonasson. It's a good book, entertaining, but not one that I struggle to put down. Book suggestions welcome!
So those are my questions! The blogs I would like to nominate are:

  1. Why did you start blogging?
  2. What is your favourite movie?
  3. Do you have any pets?
  4. What is one thing you can't leave the house without?
  5. Favourite item of clothing?
  6. Do you have a significant other?
  7. What is your favourite quote?
  8. Describe yourself in 3 words.
  9. Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
  10. What's your favourite instagram account?
  11. Gold or silver?
Please link back when you post as I would love to read everyone's answers!

5 easy ways to make your student room cosy!

5 easy ways to make your dorm room cosy_edited-1

It's Term 3 which means my  first year of University is almost over. Where on earth has that time gone?! Being a fresher is bloomin' great and I've loved first year. Living on campus in halls has certainlyhad its ups and downs. On the plus side it's meant meeting lots of new people, there's always lots going on, and being able to crawl out of bed 10 minutes before a lecture and still make it on time is very convenient. Of course I've never actually done this... well ok maybe once (or twice). Its downsides include noisy neighbours, messy kitchens - inevitable when you share with 15 people! - and fire alarms - usually drunk people returning from their nights out and burning toast at 3-4am - not great. Despite this I've grown to love my room and will be sad to leave - but living in a house next year with my best friends should hopefully be just as much if not more fun! Here are my tips on how to decorate your dorm room and make it a place you love:

Friday Favourites #4

This week has flown by! Maybe because of the bank holiday and being busy back at uni, but here are 5 of my favourite things this week -

1. Pastel Nail Varnish

I really love pastel colours for spring (as you may have guessed), and nail varnish is no exception. I particularly love the pastel colours in Topshop's nail varnishes collection.

2. Game of Thrones

I've been watching this recently and like everyone else who's been watching it - I'm hooked! It's a bit confusing at first because there are so many characters in it, but I'm really enjoying it. I've just started Season 3 so not quite caught up yet, no spoilers please ;-)

3. Garnier Body Gradual Tanning Lotion

I used this lotion last summer and thought it was such a good product, so I bought some more for this year. It creates such a natural glow without being streaky or patchy and is so moisturising too. I definitely recommend this.

4. Watercolour tattoos

I'm hoping to get my first tattoo soon, only a small concealed one, but I've been browsing pictures of tattoos on pinterest. I'm really liking the new trend that is watercolour tattoos, they're really pretty and delicate.

5. Funny texts

Someone posted this on my Facebook and I had to check it out. This article of funny texts between parents and their children made me laugh so much!

What have you been loving recently?

a day in the life

I always enjoy reading these sort of posts on other people's blogs and so I thought I'd write my own. Yesterday was the first day of term 3 - summer term! Most of my days are quite varied and this term will be different to the last 2 as I have far fewer lectures and far more exams (boo). I captured some photos of what I was doing throughout the day so here goes:

7:30am - Wake up - check emails, read the news headlines and some blog posts

iPhone cases

I've decided it's about time to replace my 99p eBay phone case that now has a crack in it and as I have a nice phone I think it deserves a nice case (this is my reasoning for some retail therapy). Henceforth I've been scouring the web in search of the perfect phone case...

I think the black and white Kate Spade one is my favourite at the moment. What's yours?

My shopping haul

At the weekend I had a day of shopping and coffee in Norwich with my mum, nanny and sister. It was a really nice day but oh the shops were busy! Probably because all the schools have broken up for Easter. Anyway I'm really pleased with the few things I bought:

The stone coloured chunky knit jumper was probably the bargain of the day, £5 from Primark! Though it may be the wrong type of year to be buying this, I'll still be able to wear it next autumn/winter, and if the weather people are correct, next weekend too when we are forecast snow...

The yellow jumper is my favourite purchase. It's from Jack Wills and it had 25% off. I love the colour of it and it looks lovely on. It goes perfect with the jeans I also bought from Jack Wills (which were 25% off too!).

Another bargain was the daisy print top which was from Primark and only £3!

I also purchased some make up from Rimmel:

I bought 'Match Perfection' 2-in-1 concealer and highlighter in Ivory as I'd run out of this and really like it, Extreme Black Volume Flash Mascara, and Stay Blushed Liquid Cheek Tint in Sunkissed Cherry. I normally use powder blusher but I really wanted to try this. So far I really like it, you only need a tiny amount but it looks quite natural on, and it seems more long-lasting than a powder.

Have you bought anything you really love recently?

6 tips on efficient studying for end of year exams

6 tips on efficient studying for end of year exams //
So I'm coming up for my first year end of year exams, and though these marks don't count towards my final grade, I still want to do the best I can! I've been revising for the past 3 or so weeks now, and before that I was studying too, but mostly focusing on getting essays and assignments done and dusted. These are a few tips I've picked up over the years of sitting exams and I hope they might come in handy for other people:
