Thoughts on the Elliot Rodger shooting

So I’m sure by now that if you’re reading this you will have heard of the mass murder committed by Elliot Rodgers on Friday night in Isla Vista, killing a total of 6 people, including himself, and hospitalising others. I was unsure whether to publish this as this could be considered controversial, not everyone will agree with my views, but I have a lot of thoughts on this news so here we are.

My wishlist: currently wishing for...

My wish list seems to have a bit of a trend to it. Everything pastel and pretty prints... head my way! Here's what I'm currently wishing for...

1.  H&M Shorts - I love the gingham print on these, it's so pretty. And these are a bargain at only £12.99!
2.  Kate Spade necklace - At £105 this is the more expensive item on my wish list, but it's beautiful and I adore the colours.
3.  Zara Print Trousers - I absolutely love Zara's trousers and this pair is no exception. I love the geometric print and the cut - I don't know why these aren't in my wardrobe yet! £35.99
4.  Nail Varnishes 1, 2, 3 - I love the colours from Rita Ora's Collection and Rimmel 60 seconds nail varnishes are pretty good. The colours are called 'Blindfold Me', 'Pillow Talk' and 'White Hot Love' respectively and are £3.69 each at Superdrug.
5.  ASOS Scallop Hem Shorts - I am absolutely in love with pastel colours, and also scallop hems, so these shorts are absolutely perfect. They are also a great price at £20.

What's on your wishlist?

40% off flash sale at Bodyshop

I don’t usually blog about beauty products, but this post is a bit of an exception. Bodyshop have a flash sale on: 40% off for 48 hours only with the code 14586. Plus free delivery if you spend over £5! I really like Bodyshop products, my skin can be quite sensitive particularly my face but I’ve never had a problem with any products from the Bodyshop! Plus they almost always smell divine. Here are some of my favourite products from Bodyshop:
I’ve been using this weekly for ages now and I really like it, it’s the best one I’ve tried. I usually put it on every Sunday or Monday night. My skin feels so smooth afterwards!

This product is absolutely brilliant if you’re prone to dandruff or dry skin. This isn’t a massive problem for me and it only really flares up when I get stressed, but it does really work. My sister swears by it. The only downside is the smell isn’t great. Easily fixed by a nice smelling conditioner though! I recommend the banana conditioner, it smells lush!

I bought this product by chance a while back and wasn’t expecting too much, but it’s actually great. It looks really nice on and I would definitely recommend. It goes on nicely and is easy to blend, but be careful not to use too much - a little goes a long way. I use this almost everyday as part of my makeup routine.

I absolutely love this, it’s my favourite scent from the bodyshop, I can’t get enough of it. I love the perfume and body mist too.

This is part of body shop’s new range, I haven’t tried it yet. Have you? What do you think?

Prom dresses!

Summer's coming and that means so are proms and summer balls! Unfortunately I can't go to my university's one this year as I'm going to be on holidaaay but that hasn't stopped me browsing dresses!  There are some really pretty one this year. I've noticed a big floral trend which I love. I've included a variety of styles in this post as some school's proms are more formal than others.

What's your favourite?

20 before 20

Sorry guys, it's been a while. I've had another busy weekend as I went up to North Norfolk with my family for my uncles birthday. We all had a brilliant time and it was such a laugh, great to have everyone together!
Because of all the long train journeys I've been doing recently I've been making endless lists on my phone while on the tube, mostly to-dos. I found an old one I wrote at the end of last year that I hadn't finished writing, and I thought it'd be good to share this on my blog. Henceforth, my 20 before 20 list!

App review: Stylebook

Hey guys! Today I want to share with you an app that I'm recently using quite a lot. If you've ever spent sleepless nights planning outfits for the next day, or trying to remember what you thought looked perfect with that top, or what you wore last time you saw that friend, then this app is perfect for you!

Stylebook is made to help you manage your closet. It has multiple aspects that helps you organise your clothes completely, including a virtual calendar, packing list, style stats and inspiration. The first step is to add all your clothes to the app. This can get quite tedious and may take a while if your wardrobe is large, but it's a one-time thing. After that you can just add the new clothes as you buy them. I have some tips for this stage at the end of the post.

After that, you can start creating 'looks'. These looks can be added to the calendar so you can see exactly how often you are wearing one item of clothing, or exactly what you wore on x day. Another part of this app called 'style stats' allows you to see what you wear the most, what you've never wore, what clothing was the best value and more.

There is also a packing list feature in this app. This allows you to add looks and items of clothing to trips which can really help with packing! This is perfect to aid with minimal packing.

I really love this app. I have it on my iPad and iPhone; I mostly use it on iPad simply because of the bigger screen. The 'wifi accept' feature allows you to transfer items of clothing between devices so you can use more than one device, however I think having an online account and wireless and automatic syncing would be a more efficient way of doing this.

Overall I would say this is a really great app and definitely worth having. The only improvement I think this app could benefit from is better syncing, but other than that its near perfect! The features of this app are great and there are no similar apps of the same quality. Fantastic app, easy to use and nice design.

Tips for adding clothes on the app:
  • Find basics in the shop section of the app, as the photos will be better and it's easier to add them in. I added jeans, vests, t-shirts, shirts and other simple clothes this way.
  • When photographing your own clothes, use a better quality camera if you can, then import the photos to your device because your clothes will look better. Use good lighting.
  • Use a contrasting background to your clothes so adding them is quicker as the background is removed instantly.
  • If you have an iPad, use this when adding clothes as it's so much easier with a bigger screen!
  •  For new clothes, try and find a picture online and import that. Polyvore.com can be useful for this.
Have you tried this app and what did you think?
