I got way more involved this year with my course society (German Soc) than I did in first year, and I'm so glad I did. The socials including bar crawls, house parties, laser quest and of course TOUR! were all brilliant and everyone is so great. Hopefully I'll see a lot of you in Germany next year :)
Though I've rode all my life, I'd never tried polo. I really wanted to first year but for a variety of reasons I missed all the taster sessions and first couple of weeks of lessons and then was a bit worried I'd be behind if I'd join (though in hindsight I shouldn't have been!). This year I went straight in and the first session was so so so good. It's really worth trying something new at university as you may find a new fav hobby/sport that you just can't get enough of, as I have with polo. I'm gutted I had an exam during Nationals but hopefully I can attend final year!
*Warning - incoming soppiness* As my best friend during first year, he's become so much more than that this year and I can't thank him enough for making my second year so much fun. We've done so much together and he's given me so much confidence. I'm so glad I've been able to share second year and all the amazing experiences with him!
Due to student loan woes I knew I had to get a part time job this year to help me financially. However I never expected to enjoy it as much as I have and meet such brilliant people! I'm genuinely so sad I have to leave. Marks and Spencers is such a great employer, management was faultless (couldn't say a bad word about them - so rare for retail especially!), and I've had so much fun working there, as well as growing as a person, particularly in my confidence, customer service skills, and problem solving skills! Warwick SF has been such a great team to work with and I hope I see them all again soon.
If you can't tell, I've had such an amazing year making such great memories including tour in Berlin, Warwick vs. Oxford polo game, all the nights out and Lit & Lang Ball. Thanks, Warwick! Here's to the end of second year, and on to my third year abroad!
