I love Sundays. I love waking up naturally to the morning light with no alarm screaming at me, Tom still dozing next to me getting up only to make a coffee and a smoothie bowl, jumping back into bed with a book or something on TV. That's what dreams are made of right there.
This Sunday is a bit different though, as I'm waking up in a hotel room in Freiburg, ready for a last day of exploring. Weekend trips are the best.
Last week I mentioned I had one of those crappy sort of weeks (thank you for all your lovely comments by the way, you guys always make me smile), but this week has definitely been better. So, so much better. After publishing that post last Sunday, Tom and I went off to watch some polo and I had such a nice day!
A Sunday well spent brings a week of content.
Anyway, here's a little roundup of my week:
My Bullet Journal
I tried a new layout again this week and I like it! Because it's pre-structured it means I can add stuff in days in advance so no need for a future log, though it does mean there might be empty space or I run out of space. Please ignore the massive fail of the spelling of Heidelberg. I always spell things wrong when I'm trying out new fonts!! Also here's some proof that my bullet journal isn't always perfect!
Last weekend I bought this little t shirt dress from H&M and I love it. It's striped and I love anything with stripes on, who's with me?! But it's so comfy and summery and definitely something I will be taking with me on interrailing. It's perfect for just slipping on!
I'm actually not currently reading anything! I've just finished the book 'Me Before You' by Jojo Moyes and it's like I'm not too sure what to do with myself.
I found the book one of those you just can't put down or stop thinking about. I got really emotionally attached to the characters I really don't want to spoil it for anyone who might not want to read it or see the recent film adaption so I'll be careful of what I say, but it definitely pulled at a few heartstrings. From the impression I get (I haven't read too many reviews or critiques on it) but it's quite a controversial book. It did open my eyes quite a lot to the topic of assisted suicide for disabled people that I previously just hadn't given much thought. I definitely think it's worth a read.
News with me:
What's been happening in my life?
Last Sunday I went to the Bucherer Cup final and watched polo, which has reignited the obsession with polo! I've not been able to ride since being in Germany (it's just not as accessible here as it is in England) and I can't explain how much I miss it. I've been riding weekly or more since I was 4 and not being around horses sucks so much. We had the best time watching chukkas while sitting in a deck chair with a glass of wine in the high twenties sunshine. Dreamy.
There's lots of public holidays in May and this Thursday there was another one. Our friends, Rob & Naomi, came to stay Wednesday night and on Thursday we spent the day in Heidelberg, showing them around a little bit, going up to the castle, and catching up with more friends on the riverbank. It was a beautifully hot day and it was just so nice to relax, soak up the sun, drink Weinschorles and meet up with everyone!
After a day at work Friday (my boss ordered us all Pizza for working the Brückentag yay!), Rob, Naomi, Tom and I set off again to Freiburg. Saturday was another beautiful day. I will write a post up of the weekend so I won't go in to too much detail here, but it's been such a lovely weekend so far! I even caught the sun, which never happens!
