My New Bullet Journal Setup for University

Bullet Journal for University Setup | www.hannahemilylane.com

My favourite thing about starting a new academic year was always stationery shopping. In anticipation I bought a new bullet journal in my fairly large Paperchase haul just before university started, and I've finally finished my old one so I thought I'd give you a little, photo-filled tour of my new one.

My last bullet journal was quite different, as I was mostly working full time while using it, but now I am back at university I wanted it to be more study focused and less blogging/life focused (I also mostly organise blogging on my laptop anyway and it became a bit underused). I also wanted to incorporate more art, especially watercolour, as I love having an aesthetically pleasing bullet journal, it also gives me reasons to get my paints out which is very therapeutic. However I'm trying to keep my daily/weekly logs a lot more minimalistic and practical. I guess we'll see how this turns out!

If you're familiar with my older bullet journal posts, you'll notice I've got a few additional pages. I'm keeping a lot of the lists in my old bullet journal and not migrating them over to save on space and because I keep my old one on my desk anyway!

Pages in my bullet journal include:

  • Index
  • November monthly view with a running to do list
  • December monthly view and to do list
  • University term 1 and 2 timetable and module list
  • "This week..." page with post it notes featuring quotes, goals, meal plans, shopping lists and whatever else!
  • Another post it note page
  • Grade tracker
  • Assignment deadlines

I didn't take photos of them but I also have a spending log and budget page, a contacts page with my lecturers' emails, a mental health tracker and a yearly calendar.

My daily log layouts so far have all been very similar, I quite like this layout but I may have to change it up soon. Having a habit tracker on the weekly view has been so useful as I always forgot to fill it in in my old bullet journal!

I will be adding more pages as I go, but I'm quite enjoying my layout so far. If I want to write a list, I usually add it to a post it note, unless it will be more permanent, which means I end up making more lists as they're easily removed! I've also put my daily logs in a separate section for now so they're easy to find, though I do keep a sticky tab at the top of the current week. I'm so glad I've got back into bullet journalling, it makes me feel so much more organised, and with the mountain of work final year brings, this is so important!
