5 Things I'm Loving Right Now #9
It’s a mild, overcast Tuesday. I’m sat on the sofa with a coffee and iPad in hand. Should I put another episode on Netflix? Mindlessly scroll Netflix?
And then a thought that hasn’t crossed my mind for a hot minute emerged… I’ll write a blog post!
I always seem to introduce these type of posts with an ‘I haven’t blogged for a while’ ramble, but these are great posts to write for when I need to get back into blogging. And that is fully what I intend on doing. I love this little website, I hate letting it gather dust. I love sharing useful posts and the not so useful ones that still feel so therapeutic to write.
I have lots planned!
But anyway, enough of that. Onto the post…
5 things I’ve been loving lately:
One: iPad Pro
I have been dreaming of getting an iPad Pro and pencil for a long, long time. I set up a savings goal with my bank to help me get there and make it happen, and finally, last month, I took the plunge and purchased one. I freaking love it.
Yep, you can bet I’m writing this post on my iPad right now, because I’m finding every reason possible to use it haha.
I love how much easier it will be to travel with in comparison to taking my laptop, I love being able to hand write notes and draw mindmaps, I love Procreate a huge amount.
My only regret is that I didn’t buy it sooner. It would have been great to have throughout uni, as I was always torn between handwriting notes and typing them and this allows you to have both, but I’m just glad I’ve finally bought one now.
I’m planning on creating printables and sticker sheets and all the art, so expect to see that on here soon.
Two: Hashtag Authentic podcast
I really have got into listening to podcasts since working an office job, and I am always on the hunt for new ones to listen to - so any suggestions hit me up!
I’ve been listening to Hashtag Authentic by Sara Tasker for a while now. If you have a small business and/or are a blogger or online creative you’ll love this podcast. Sara Tasker is behind the hugely popular Instagram account @me_and_orla, and author of the book Hashtag Authentic: Finding creativity and building a community on Instagram and beyond. But best of all she is a hugely inspiring woman and often chats with some very successful women.
I adored the recent episode Essential Wisdom for Working Women with Otegah Uwagba, author of The Little Black Book: A Toolkit for Working Women (which is an essential read for any working gal) and creator of the Women Who community.
I couldn't not include this four-legged beast that's entered my life this year. Buying a horse is a dream I've always had - since I started riding when I was the meagre age of four, when I loaned two horses through high school/sixth form, always. The opportunity came up at the start of the year to buy her and we couldn’t turn it down. As much as I’d always longed for and hoped to own a horse of my own, I didn’t expect it to happen quite so quickly!
She’s an 8 year old Welsh Cob Sec D, who up until this year had been used as a broodmare. She had only just been backed when I went to try her, but she’s proven herself to be a super quick learner and has done incredible so far!
I need to thank my mum here for looking after her when I’m not there and making a dream come true for me xx
I can’t wait to see what Loretta and I can achieve - I’m hoping we can get to some horse shows this year - she’s already showing a love for jumping and her breeding and looks will hopefully do very well in showing.
Four: Queer Eye
If you haven’t yet seen Queer Eye on Netflix, then go watch it. Right now.
This reality tv show is so heart-warming and emotional. The ‘Fab Five’ advise people who aren’t living their best lives on fashion, grooming, food, culture and design, to transform them into a better, happier person. Go watch an episode, but have the tissues at the ready.
Season 3 recently came out too, and every episode is pretty tear-jerking and just as good as the first season.
Five: The Body Shop’s Banana Hair Mask
I got The Body Shop’s Truly Nourishing Banana Hair Mask for Christmas and have been using it religiously since then, I love it!
First of all, the smell is incredibleee. Maybe not so much if you don’t like bananas though. It’s so sweet and smells like a beautiful mix of banana and coconut.
Secondly, this stuff is so conditioning. It leaves my hair beautifully soft and my hair has never been in better condition. It has grown unbelievably quickly recently, and I’m putting it down to this.
Finally, it’s 100% vegan and cruelty-free, so obviously I’m on board with that!
It’s £12 a tub, which I thought originally was quite expensive, but it has lasted me nearly 4 months so far and I’ve still got a fair chunk to go, so it’s not something you’d need to replace every month.
I’m not one to rave about beauty products, mostly because I don’t actually use a lot (this is one area of my life where I’m super minimalist) but I adore this product so much.
